Although this mitt is officially designed for Japanese Rubber Baseball (Nanshiki / Soft Baseball), Japanese rubber baseballs are much firmer than many players expect—nearly as hard as regulation baseballs. Because of this, premium Japanese rubber-ball gloves and mitts are built to withstand repeated high-impact use.

This mitt is also durable enough for Hard Baseball. In fact, many players intentionally choose premium Japanese rubber-ball models because they feature slightly softer, higher-quality leather than many traditional hard baseball mitts.
