This is a pre-owned antique item being sold as is with visible signs of wear commensurate with age and use.

Date estimates are approximate and best guess on my part. Factors I've noted are in line with my research although I am not an expert.   Please read description and examine photos to confirm description and approximate dimensions.

Sculpture measures approximately 5.5 in tall by 3.5 in wide. It appears to be hot cast spelter from a two-part molding process, indicated by mold lines you still visible on the chest piece and on the side of the head.

Uneven plating with both brass and copper highlights showing through at different points with different levels of oxidization add to this conclusion.

While I have noted no breaks or repairs, there is a void next to the statue's neck and a large patch of oxidation visible on the front as well as smaller areas in crevices.

This piece is a similar and style to both Italian and French pieces from a similar time frame, drawing inspiration from Renaissance style sculpture as a direct continuation of the art form.

Sculpture weighs 1 lb 5.4 oz, again in alignment with a hollow spelter sculpture.
