Lot of two Antique 1878 George Jones and Sons Earthenware/Creamware 10 1/4" Commemorative plates featuring a Stylized Victorian aesthetic pattern. As it was common practice in Staffordshire England at that time to produce plates to commemorate prominent global events such as military conflicts; in this case the siege of PleVna in Bulgaria during the Russo Turkish War. The plates are in very good condition with no cracks or chips though some crazing and discoloration is present particularly on one of the plates. I have tried to show the wear in the last 5 photos. Made in Stoke of Trent England in 1878.
