Up for sale is a beautiful vintage graduated (I'm presuming faux) pearl strand necklace, elegantly arranged inside its stunning, original presentation box from the historic Plymouth jeweller Page, Keen & Page Ltd.
This piece carries wonderful regional and royal history. The inner satin lid lining proudly features the Prince of Wales feathers crest, reading "By Appointment - Page, Keen & Page Ltd., Plymouth". Furthermore, a faint vintage hand-written inscription reading "Mrs. Scott" alongside a date is visible on the velvet display card beneath the pearls, offering a lovely glimpse into the item's family provenance.
The Necklace: A classic strand of finely matched, graduated cream-colored faux pearls (graduating in size from the center out to the clasp). Features a vintage metallic spring-ring clasp closure.
The Presentation Case: A long, slim, hardshell jewellery case bound in a beautiful teal/blue textured leatherette with an elegant gold-leaf border design along the lid edge
Interior Finish: Lined with a padded cream satin upper lid and a custom-fitted velvet necklace display insert track designed to hold the strand perfectly in place.
Necklace Condition: The pearls are in very good vintage condition, retaining a lovely, soft luster with no major peeling or noticeable surface damage to the nacre. The stringing remains secure and taut.
Case Condition: The presentation box is in good structural condition for its age and snaps shut correctly. The interior satin shows some typical, light age-related foxing and minor storage staining (as pictured in file 1000095061.jpg), which adds to its authentic antique character.
Case Length: Approx. 20.5 cm to 21 cm
