An original Roger Taylor promotional photograph issued by Parlophone Records during the mid-1990s to promote the Queen drummer's solo career. The striking monochrome portrait captures Roger Taylor in a classic studio pose and carries the official Parlophone logo together with a printed publicity contact line for further promotional information.
The photograph is credited to the renowned British photographer John Swannell, whose portrait work has appeared extensively in music, fashion and royal photography. Official promotional photographs such as this were supplied to newspapers and magazines for editorial use when covering new releases, interviews and publicity campaigns.
This example originates from the Shields Gazette photographic archive, where it was retained for editorial reference. The reverse is otherwise blank apart from contemporary archive annotations identifying the subject and a handwritten date of 7.5.94, reflecting its filing within the newspaper archive.
Original Roger Taylor publicity photographs are considerably less common than standard Queen group promotional material and are increasingly sought after by collectors of Queen, classic rock memorabilia and official record company press items.
Very good condition with minor edge wear and light creasing consistent with age, editorial handling and archive storage.
Please study the photographs carefully as they form part of the description.
