Downliners Sect were a British 1960s group with an R&B style similar to The Yardbirds or Rolling Stones, formed by rhythm guitarist/vocalist Mick O'Donnell with drummer Johnny Sutton when their group the Downliners disbanded after a disastrous French tour. They signed a deal with EMI/Columbia in 1964, recording "Baby What's Wrong" and the album "The Sect". Their EP had gained attention on Swedish pirate radio and a single, "Little Egypt", reached No 2 in the Swedish charts in April, 1965.
The paper sleeve is complete with some creasing and a little browning to the the extremities. The red colouring is still vibrant. The rear has the Swedish Top 10 listed with the Beatles, Beach Boys and Supremes included. There is a Swedish record shop stamp on the back and a couple of rubbed out pencil marks.The record has a black label with silver lettering and is in very good condition with very little evidence of playing. The 4 point centre is intact and the label is stamped Made in Sweden.
