1945 Original Press Photo by U.S. NAVY PHOTOGRAPHER.
Damaged by a Japanese suicide plane which crashed near its bridge, the USS Haraden made its way on one engine from from the scene of the attack in the Sulu Sea on December 13,1945, many thousands of miles to Puget Sound Navy Yard in Bremerton, WA. It was quickly repaired and is now back in action...seeking revenge against the foe.

Docked with the USS Lamson, left, another destroyer damaged in the Pacific, the Haraden is snapped at Puget Sound Navy Yard. Because of their proximity and their parallel 'timetables' of repairs, the 2 ships were known as 'The Twins.'
