Here for sale is a Leica M6 TTL, with a 0.85x viewfinder. It's a lovely camera - I'm only selling to slim down the collection slightly, and have chosen to part with this one as I prefer using the 0.72x viewfinder (suits me more).

According to the Leica Passport, this one was originally sold on 14/07/2001, so has just passed its 25th birthday!

Overall it's in a good condition, and works perfectly well - just one point to be clear on before I go on:
  • The rangefinder window/patch appears to have slight signs of fungus (or I think it could be anyway). The viewfinder itself appears fine, just a minor amount of dust which is hard to entirely avoid. You don't see it in the rangefinder patch when looking through - it's just on the small window itself. I'm sure it'd be cleanable during a CLA, but for if stored correctly, shouldn't spread and presently has zero impact on function.
The condition is generally good considering the age - there are light spots of paint rub/wear generally to the body. Beneath the plastic portion of the advance lever, there's some paint loss (to the lever itself, and the top-plate a little - not visible when in the closed position).

I can spot 3 tiny zinc blisters on top (but not especially noticeable - I've owned ones that were far worse!). Tiny bit of paint loss around the shutter button.

A previous owner appears to have remove the white paint from the 'Leica M6' lettering, perhaps to make it look more stealthy. No effect on anything, just pointing it out. Also, the shutter speed dial has grey/red marking rather than the usual white/yellow - I presume intentional, but it was that way when I got it.

The baseplate still has the protective film attached, so that's in great shape. The leatherette covering is in a very good condition too, no obvious defects. The viewfinder has a minor amount of dust within, but you don't notice it when looking through.

Functionally it works a treat. The light meter and rangefinder both appear accurate. Film advance is smooth and the shutter relates as intended, no signs of abnormality there.

I've added a few sample images from a trip from the other weekend.

It'll come with the following:
So I think that covers it all - functionally it's absolutely fine, it's just that slight suspect fungus inside the rangefinder window, but it doesn't show when looking through the viewfinder. With a CLA it could most likely be cleaned up, or left as-is. Overall, cosmetically it's definitely one of the cleaner examples I've owned.

Happy to answer questions and I'll send the camera with Royal Mail's Special Delivery service, with full cover for the value of the camera.
