Item description:

Up for sale is rare SHEAFFER TARGA in green ronce pattern, white dot, converter included. Ronce is a famous, heavily lacquered wood-grain pattern used on several SHEAFFER TARGA models. This is probably one of the rarest and most desirable Sheaffer Targa fountain pens. This is a highly collectible vintage pen featuring a stunning marbled green lacquer finish, it was made in USA dates back to the 90's. The pen is very well preserved, can fit as a valuable addition and would grace any collection, and is a quality pen that will perfectly function, as a daily writer.

The "Ronce" (French for brier or bramble) finish mimics the organic, swirling grain pattern of fine briarwood. To achieve this look, SHEAFFER layered multiple coats of colored and clear lacquer—often hand-sprayed and polished up to 14 times—giving the pen a deep, luminous glow.

Called by Sheaffer herself both ‘Laque Green Ronce’ and ‘Green Ronce’, this pen comes with a real lacquer finish, with 14 lacquered layers on the cap and barrel, a luxurious option, very expensive and produced in a limited number of pieces and marketed for less than 4 years.

Model 1038 (Classic): The standard, full-size width version featuring the original, slightly lighter Green Ronce marbled lacquer finish. Produced roughly between 1978 and 1982.

Model 1081 (Malachite Green Ronce): Released later (1989–1996), this Classic-sized version features a noticeably darker, rich forest-green marbled look intended to mimic malachite stone

This pen benefits from being fully serviced and ultrasonically cleaned. It was disassembled, fully inspected, cleaned, tested and ready for enjoyable use with your favorite ink, for many more years.

 

 

No major issues or imperfections being noted as dents/cracks /scratches/brassing/shading/discoloration/plating wear or engraving/ personalization/tarnish. Rolled gold caps, clips and trims. The golden trims have no signs of ruinous oxidation or rust.

There is a micro-dent on the edge of the golden upper ring, and slight plating loss on the bottom ring edge, but overall this Targa is a really good and beautiful pen especially considering its age. Few very small dings which I have shown in extreme close up but it is barely noticeable in the hand. See last images.)

Payment is expected within 3 days of auction end. If payment is not received within 3 days none paying bidder alerts will be issued automatically after that time, and the item will be relisted.

Your Item will be sent by registered mail, after payment is confirmed. A tracking number will be uploaded to e-bay.

Please check with your country's customs office what are the additional costs will be prior bidding/buying. Normally handling time is just up to2 days. I ship worldwide only by registered signed for postage. Most of sent items arrive within 20 working days, but please be patient: customs & holidays are only few of the reasons for delay. You will receive tracking number as your item is sent – will be uploaded on e-Bay.
