Up for auction is a rare vintage B-29 Superfortress die cast aluminum toy airplane believed to date to the late 1940s to early 1950s. This heavy, well-cast piece features the “B-29” designation embossed on the fuselage, USAAF star roundel insignia on both wings and underside, four engine nacelles with three of four original propellers present, and all original landing gear intact.

The standout feature is the smaller parasite fighter aircraft cast onto the belly — a direct nod to the experimental USAAF mothership program of the era. This detail is uncommon on toy representations of the B-29 and has proven difficult to match in collector databases.

Measures 4.5” nose to tail and 5.5” wingspan. Displays beautifully. Natural aged patina throughout consistent with age. One propeller missing, all wheels present and accounted for.
