This vintage Chicago TAXI CAB Hat Cap from the 1940s in size 6 7/8 is a unique collectible piece with the enameled badge from Chicago & the vintage AFL-CIO Button.  The button reads: "DRIVERS TAXI UNION OWNERS AFL-CIO. 


My Dad fought in the army in WWII.  In 1944, the GI Bill paid for soldiers college tuition.  My Dad went into college but worked as a Chicago Cab Driver while going to school.  He said it was hard because, back then, he had to know and/or memorize the Chicago streets!

This hat was made by 5th Avenue Uniform Company, located on Madison Street in Chicago.  Perfect for enthusiasts of transportation and vintage items, this hat cap is a nostalgic throwback to a bygone era of taxi cabs.
