Up for sale is a rare antique French Art Deco glass bonbonnière dating from the circa 1930s. An elegant and highly collectible design by the renowned French glass artist Pierre d'Avesn.

Pierre d'Avesn (Pierre Girre) was one of the leading French glass designers of the Art Deco period. He began his career working for the legendary René Lalique, where he developed his distinctive artistic style before creating celebrated designs for several prestigious French glass manufacturers. Today, his works are highly sought after by collectors of French Art Deco glass alongside those of Lalique, Sabino, Verlys, and Daum.

Beautifully moulded in frosted smoky topaz-tinted glass with subtle blue-grey opalescent tones, the circular box features a charming high-relief decoration of two lovebirds nestled among flowering branches in the distinctive Art Deco style. The base is moulded with the authentic signature "P. D'AVESN FRANCE."

The bonbonnière remains in good antique condition. There are three tiny flea bites consistent with age: one on the inner rim of the lid, one on the outer edge of the lid, and one on the base rim. These minor imperfections do not detract from the overall beauty or display quality of the piece and are clearly shown in the photographs.

Found at an estate sale in Paris and now ready for a new collection.
