Poland to U.S.: 1936 airmail cover to philatelic society member, 1935 SC 302

Warsaw–Washington Envelope from to Philatelic Society, Washington, D.C., U.S.A., member Alden Whitney, member of the Société Philatélique (possibly a relative of Eli Whitney),  Warsaw CDS dated SEP 16, 1936 (10 PM) and Washington 24 September receiver crayon notation with 402-12 NA 1 and pencil notation Not for Philatelic Agency Postal Department. On reverse bearing 1935, 55 gr blue Raczyński Library, Poznań (Scott 302), tied  with Warsaw CDS dated SEP 16, 1936 (10 PM)  and Washington machine slogan cancel “U.S. SAVINGS BONDS / ASK YOUR POSTMASTER”, and receiving CDS WASHINGTON, D.C. SEP 29, 1936 (6 PM), indicating rapid transatlantic transmission.

Manuscript routing and docketing marks, including “Philatelic Agency” notation, suggesting exchange or correspondence between organized collectors or institutions. Addressed in French format (“Monsieur”), typical of international philatelic correspondence.
