Traditional Elastics Retro Game 3.5m Chinese Jump Rope Great Outdoor Fun

Elastics (often called Chinese Jump Rope) is a classic retro schoolyard game. It involves at least three players (or two with chairs) stretching a long elastic loop around their ankles, knees, and higher, while the jumper completes increasingly difficult twisting, turning, and jumping sequences.

The Basics
The Setup: Two players (the "poles") stand about 2-3 meters apart, facing each other with the elastic looped securely around their ankles, creating a rectangular shape.

The Jumper: The third player completes a specific sequence of jumps without touching or tripping over the elastic.

Level Progression: Once a sequence is completed, the elastic moves up: ankles → knees → upper thighs → waist → underarms.

Common Jumps & Moves
The moves generally follow a rhythmic pattern to rhymes or songs. Some of the foundational moves include:
In/Out/On: Jump with both feet inside the rectangle, jump to land with feet outside, or jump to land on top of both elastic bands.
Twist: Jump to cross the elastic bands into an 'X' shape, then untwist.
Side: Jump entirely to one side of the elastic bounds.
