Up for sale is a beautiful, highly collectible Roman Catholic souvenir presentation case from the **Extraordinary Jubilee Holy Year of 1933–1934**. This historic year was declared by Pope Pius XI to commemorate the 1,900th anniversary of the traditional year of the Crucifixion and Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

**Item Details:**

* **Exterior:** The case features a distinctively shaped, vibrant mottled red/faux-tortoiseshell finish. The top lid features a black chevron insert beautifully stamped in gold leaf: *"Ricordo Anno Santo 1933-34 Roma"* (Souvenir of the Holy Year 1933-34 Rome).

* **Interior Lid:** Inside, the satin lining holds two highly detailed, silver-toned metal relief plaques and a miniature Papal coat of arms (crossed keys and tiara).

  * **Left Plaque:** A detailed profile portrait of **Pope Pius XI** over St. Peter's Basilica, inscribed with his motto: *"Pax Christi in Regno Christi"*.

  * **Right Plaque:** A depiction of the famous bronze statue of **St. Peter Enthroned** in Rome.

* **Lower Compartment:** Features a silk/velvet-lined tray with a recessed groove, originally meant to house a commemorative rosary, medal, or crucifix (please note: the original bottom item is **not** included).

* The case opens and closes securely with its original brass pin clasp.

* The red exterior shows some honest age wear, scuffing, and edge fraying. The interior silk lining shows light staining and wear along the hinge line.
