Nice original Impressionist painting on canvas depicting a Venice Italy canal scene. This is a large painting on canvas that measures approximately 39.5"×19.5" and sits in a large ornate wooden frame that measures approximately 46"×19.5". Not sure what type of painting this is, possibly acrylic or gouche, not certain. Paint on canvas is not thick at all on canvas. Beautiful colors throughout. It is artist signed however I cannot make out the whole name. I believe the first two initials may be G. M. One of the store fronts off the canal is titled ANTICHITA, other that that no other markings are found. Like I mentioned before this is a large framed painting and is in good used condition with some wear including scratches on ornate frame and the canvas may need to be stretched out a bit especially near one top corner. Painting may need a cleaning, your choice. Prior owner had in their home for past 50 years. This piece altogether weighs in just over 8 lbs and has a small hanging tab on back top of frame.
