It is an interface unit that can perform various transmission controls such as CAT communication of Yaesu radio, SSTV, RTTY, PSK, etc. with a personal computer connected with a USB cable.

It can be used for CAT communication with a PC that does not have an RS-232C terminal. The SCU-17 is equipped with a USB audio device and transmits and receives audio signals via USB cable. The SCU-17 can be connected to a PC using only the supplied USB cable. - A 2-channel USB serial device is provided for simultaneous CAT communication and various transmission controls. The SCU-17 can be operated by USB bus power, so no external power supply is required.
