I post out with slightly more expensive but safer Parcelforce, not with "Simple Delivery"... but you just pay the cheaper price.

I am a bit of a sucker for these Harley Benton flame red PB-50 model basses... even with their standard white scratchplate I think they are rather special... here I was able to change to a black scratchplate and this is the look I love.

Double that with the re carved tele type PB-50 Sting type head shape and it comes alive.

You will see VT series on the head? I couldn't think what it referred to, but see now that VT series must be "vintage series".

Known for making my six string guitars with wider necks and more space between the strings, it might seem incongruous that on basses I sometimes reduce the space between the strings; though it remains a larger space than I have between the strings on my wide-neck six string guitars... this one in fact has an old Fender jazzbass nut of 38mm, and this 42mm P-bass neck has been slimmed down and scalloped on the edges to the ninth fret... gives a textured feel for position as you slide up and down the neck.

The old P-50 Fender basses had these apparent thumb-rests below the strings, not above them; the reason is they were called "thumb-pulls", and with many bassists using their thumb to pluck, this was for them to hook fingers over to give a good thumb pluck.

This thumb-pull was made from an offcut of maple that came from the head when I carved the P-50 tele shape.

I left some Hb decal on it to show it was part of this guitar; and is real wood where the Hb one it had was hollow plastic.

On tone and volume: the Roswell pickups are becoming widely known for punching way above their weight; I fitted a telecaster bridge one to a wide-neck guitar I was doing last week and they do a fine job.

It has had a full careful pro set up by me, and will probably be the best bass you have ever played!
