This is a single authentic $1 casino chip from the Palace Club Hotel & Casino in Reno, Nevada. The chip features a lavender/purple body with yellow/gold edge inserts, a white central inlay with "Palace club / RENO / $1" in red and green lettering in the casino's distinctive mid-century script logo. The chip has been cancelled — a small hole has been punched through the inlay at the bottom — which was the standard industry practice used by casinos to officially retire chips from active play and prevent them from being redeemed. Cancelled chips are a recognised and collected category within casino chip collecting, as they represent chips that genuinely saw table play before being officially withdrawn from circulation.

The Palace Club was one of Reno's most storied and historic casinos, operating on North Virginia Street in the heart of downtown Reno's casino corridor. The property traced its roots to the early days of Nevada's legalised gambling era and was a fixture of Reno's gaming landscape for decades before its eventual closure.
