This classic design loon dollar is minted in proof finish in pure silver with gold plating. This coin is taken from the 2023 fine silver proof set. This coin has the traditional loon logo and the date 2023 on the reverse.  On the obverse is the commemorative double date 1952-2022 below the Susanna Blunt effigy of the Queen (also showing to the left of her head is the P symbol that indicates the gold plating). It is 11-sided and 26.5 mm in diameter and weighs 7.89 grams (note that the identical looking steel coin taken from the silver dollar proof set is 6.27 grams).  New lower mintage of the set is only 20,000
