Moderate foxing to the insides of the covers and to the edges of the text block; previous owner's name in pen at the top of the half-title page; occasional light foxing and soiling to interior pages. Otherwise unmarked.A foundational reference for early American pattern glass collectors, compiling identification and valuation notes for about 1,500 patterns alongside black-and-white photographs, reproduction notes, and cross-references to the plate numbers used in the earlier standard texts of Kamm, Ruth Webb Lee, Millard, and the McKearins. Arranged by pattern with discursive commentary, suggested values, and notes on rarity and patterns most easily confused. The preface is dated March, 1958. This copy is issued under the original Guide Publishing Co. imprint, with "Printed by Spencer-Walker Press, Columbus, Ohio" appearing on the title-page verso; later printings of the book were issued under the Spencer-Walker Press imprint directly.
