Here's an extremely rare Paragon RAS regenerative radio manufactured in 1923 by Adams Morgan Co, the first company to commercialize Armstrong's regeneration patent in 1916. The radio was pretty much Paragon's "last hurrah" as a radio pioneer, the bridge between the earliest RA series of radios the company was manufacturing and the later Paragon One, Two, Three and Four it built under pressure to return to profitability. It is one of only a handful of examples of the radio that I know of, and as most of you are aware, I've been in the early 20's radio racket for more than 30 years, during which time I've bought and sold literally thousands of early 20's radios...and seen tens of thousands more.
Condition of this RAS is excellent, close to mint, and as you can see in the video I've posted above, it still works well and plays loud and clear.
The paper label on the underside of the cabinet is worn, but the radio is otherwise like new, with virtually no signs of aging anywhere. Both original Paragon AF transformers are good, and the paint on their cases is original and pristine. Wiring is straight and original, cabinet finish is original, panel is clean, with nearly perfect original engraving. Dials and knobs are likewise almost like new.
This is an exceptional radio, worthy of the top shelf in even the most advanced collection of antique radios.
