BEWARE OF FAKES & FORGERIES

There are many fake hollow-cast lead figures being sold on eBay claiming to be “original”. There are lots of ways to spot them, the easiest being a line across the underside of the base made by a rubber mould - true originals came from a metal mould which left no line. For more information on how to spot them search “fakefigures” from your browser.

So far, no meaningful action has been taken by the various online platforms to stop these scammers, even when the fakes have been brought directly to their attention, so it’s up to us as a community to take action. If you see any of these figures listed as originals, let the seller know their items are not what they claim them to be, report the listing and finally, call eBay and complain. Spread the word - we can at least give these scammers a headache.

I regularly list lead figures by most 20th century English hollow-cast lead manufacturers including Barrett & Sons (B&S), Benbros, Britains, Charbens, Cherilea, Crescent Toys, F G Taylor & Sons (FGT), John Hill & Co (JoHillCo), HR Products (Reynolds), Keymen, Kew (Ku-Zu), Luntoy (London Toy Company), Morestone, Philip Segal, Pixyland, Roydon, Sacul, TAG, Taylor & Barrett (T&B), Timpo Toys and Wendal, as well as French models by CBG Mignot, George Munkle and Simon et Rivollet, German figures by Georg Heyde of Dresden, Heinrichsen of Nuremburg‎ and many more.

If you make individual payments I am obliged to send individual packages.
