Complete 9-piece antique Japanese red lacquer serving set, unwrapped from original 1955 Japanese newspaper packing — never used. Acquired in Japan by a US Navy Korean War veteran circa 1951–1955 and stored in original box ever since.
Set includes one large serving bowl (10” interior diameter), six individual bowls (5.5” interior diameter), and matching lacquer serving fork and spoon (11” long). All pieces are deep oxblood red lacquer with black lacquer interiors and finely detailed gold maki-e scenic decoration throughout — Mt. Fuji, torii gates, pagodas, sailing boats, fishermen, cranes, and coastal landscapes. Each individual bowl features a unique scene.
Lacquer is vivid and intact. No chips, no cracks. Light dust from 70 years of storage only. This is a complete, matched set in remarkable condition for its age.
Original packing newspaper dates to August 1955 — Showa 30 — and is included with the set.
Ships carefully packed.
