Measuring 7.5 inches long and 4.5 inches wide, this robust cage can handle even the strongest pumps. Constructed from sturdy steel, it's built to last, though lifespan can vary based on water type; freshwater environments will see it last a year or more, and regular rust removal will significantly extend its use. For your convenience, a one-inch plastic male barbed connector is included. When installing onto a standard one-inch pump hose, simply soak the hose in hot water to increase its flexibility for a secure fit. Helps extend the life of your water pump by keeping it out of the water. Handcrafted in the USA by a duck pond owner who was tired of taking apart the pump to clean it. The mesh bag that comes with most water pumps did not work. We also offer a larger version of this basket.
*Maintenance - It is important to not let the outside of the basket get completely covered by pond muck, feathers, leaves, etc. Simply unscrew the basket and wash off. If your pump is strong enough, it will implode the basket if the outside becomes completely sealed.
