Offered for sale is a striking vintage handwoven textile art wall hanging, dating to the Mid-Century / Space Age period. This one-of-a-kind modernist fiber artwork is executed in traditional tapestry / carpet-weaving technique, with a strong abstract portrait composition.

The design features a stylized female face formed through bold geometric and flowing shapes, set against a soft mint-green ground. The color palette combines deep burgundy, purple-blue, muted rose pink, and green tones, creating a vivid yet balanced modernist composition.

The work reflects the spirit of mid-20th century studio textile art, where figuration and abstraction merge into a painterly woven language. The fringed ends add to its authentic handwoven character.

Material: Wool fibers on a cotton foundation.

Condition: Very well preserved vintage condition, with light signs of age and minor wear to the wool fibers, consistent with period handmade textile work.

Unsigned, but in my opinion made by a trained professional textile artist.

Provenance: Private collection, Sofia.

Attribution: In the manner of / attributed to the artistic circle or school of Prof. Marin Varbanov.
