Chrome & Bakelite Smoking Stand

Sleek and stylish Streamline Moderne smoking stand in Chrome and Bakelite with weighted iron base. The pivoting chrome orb has a removable Bakelite ashtray (as seen in last photo) and a Bakelite rest for lit cigars and cigarettes. The other end of the stand has a Bakelite & chrome match holder.

 This piece of Modernist sculpture & design originates from Belgium. The match holder retains an old matchbox from Brussels. The table itself has a beautiful, tactile checkered pattern. The center tension rod is brass.

One item of note: the matchbox holder was originally held onto the stand with two screws inserted into two threaded holes in the base of the Bakelite table. These threaded holes have since broken and degraded. This issue was solved by cutting a piece of Gorilla Tape to size. The bond of the match holder to the base is now extremely strong and durable.

Smoking Stand Measures 30 Inches Tall x Approx 17 Inches Wide.
Table Height is 23.25 Inches.
