Hello dear customers,
Up for sale is a rare antique 19th century Ottoman embroidered linen textile panel, suitable as a wall hanging, decorative cover, or tablecloth. A beautiful hand-worked textile art executed on linen with gold metallic threads and colored cotton embroidery, enhanced with metallic fiber details.
The design features a central Ottoman architectural motif resembling a mosque or palace façade, surrounded by crescent-and-flower ornaments, arabesque scrollwork, paisley-style boteh motifs, and an Islamic calligraphic-style border. The outer edge is finished with dark metallic lace trim, adding to its rich period character.
A highly decorative textile reflecting Ottoman taste and Balkan / Near Eastern influence, with soft faded pastel colors and a wonderfully aged surface. Found at an estate sale in Sofia.
Condition: Very good antique condition for its age. The colors show light natural fading, and there are some age-related yellow spots and storage marks, mostly visible on the border. A small section of the dark lace trim is detached / loose and could be easily restored. Please review all photos carefully, as they form an important part of the item description.
