CLIFTON POTTERY INDIAN WARE HANDLED VASE
Four Mile Ruin, Arizona

1906-1909 Clifton (Newark, New Jersey) art pottery. The Indian Ware line was inspired by archeological finds that were published in the Smithsonian Bureau of Ethnology Reports and they are modeled after specific pieces. The model for this form was excavated at Four Mile Ruin in Arizona.

Measures 4.5" high and 5.25" across widest point of the body.

The piece has overall light soiling. No chips, cracks or damage. Incised Clifton cypher and “Four Mile Ruin, Arizona.” Impressed “Clifton” stamp and shape number “230.”
