Wolf Nation: The Life, Death, and Return of the Wild American Wolves (inscribed and also signed by Eisenberg)

Author: Peterson, Brenda [Christina Eisenberg]
Title: Wolf Nation: The Life, Death, and Return of the Wild American Wolves (inscribed and also signed by Eisenberg)
Publication: NY: De Capo Press, 2017
Edition: First edition

Description: Hardcover. Inscribed on the title page: "For Vanessa--Wolf Sister--Write me! Brenda Peterson." With her author email address written lower down. Also inscribed on the title page by well-known biologist Christina Eisenberg: "For wolves and wildness, Love -- Christina Eisenberg." She blurbs the book on the rear of the jacket and is featured on about a dozen pages per the index. Eisenberg is a former dean at Oregon State University and the chief scientist for the Earthwatch Institute; she is known for The Carnivore Way, which argues that apex predators like wolves need to be able to move freely across landscapes, and for her promotion of rewilding and indigenous knowledge. Peterson, meanwhile, is a prolific writer of place who lives in Seattle. Wolf Nation was chosen as a “Best Conservation Book of the Year” by Forbes magazine, and her writing has appeared in Orion among many other outlets. A fine octavo in paper boards; in a fine jacket. Blurbs also by Sy Montgomery and Carl Safina. A nice find in light of Eisenberg's inscription. Fine / Fine.
