The MT500 radio is an awesome "prop" for your Ghostbusters uniform, but I want more than just a passive prop that is for looks only. With the sound upgrade kit installed in your MT500, it now can play many different sound quotes from GB1, GB2 and Ghostbusters TVG radio chatter, as well as an "interactive" sequence that the user can activate with a press of the talk switch.

PLEASE READ:

The MT500 Radio is NOT included in this upgrade parts kit!
Installation of the parts is not included with this kit.
Soldering is required for this installation.

Kit contents:

  1. A battery holder and sound board (requires 2x AA batteries, not included) that fit in the battery compartment of your MT500
    * a potentiometer to adjust the delay between samples playing
    * a potentiometer to adjust the volume (should be set to a mid level if you are connectingh to the MT500's volume control)
    * a jumper block to select between different groups of quote selections
  2. 5x Cables to connect the sound board to the radio controls
    * Power switch
    * Speaker
    * Talk Switch
    * Frequency selector.  The selection of groups of sounds can come from one of two sources; the rotary frequency selection switch which is not on all MT-500s and the module's jumper block, so even without the rotary switch on the radio you can still select what sounds will be used.3) A sound module crammed with 228 sound samples organized into over 100 phrases.
  3. Heat shrink for covering open wire connections (mainly for the talk button)
  4. Replacement rubber compression pad for the battery lid cover

Here are the more interactive actions:

  • If you press the talk button for less than 1 second, it will automatically start the next quote when you release it.
    If you hold down the talk button for 1-3 seconds you get to step through a set sequence of responses from all 4 Ghostbusters
    If you hold down the talk button for 3-5 seconds you get the Ghostbusters commercial from GB1
    If you hold down the talk button for over 5 seconds the entire Walkie talkie sequence from GB1 will play

Here are the different modes that can be selected by the MT-500's frequency selector or module's jumpers:

  • 1) Only samples from GB1 movie (quotes and radio chatter)
    2) Only samples from GB2 movie (quotes and radio chatter)
    3) Only radio chatter from TVG, GB1 and GB2
    4) All quotes and all radio chatter
