The teapot is finely painted on both sides with two enclosing flower sprays, all framed by two shaped cartouches enclosed by scrolling lotus, with a band of stylised petals to the foot rim and a band of ruyi-heads to the shoulder, incised with a six-character in underglaze blue on the base, with a wooden cover and a fitted incised wooden box
