Once I was a consumption-driven man of the world. I lived in the world, was born of the world and was wrapped in the world. I was content with my life and my world, for they were the only life and the only world that I had ever known. Suddenly and unexpectedly at the age of twenty-three, my life and my world collapsed when I developed Multiple Sclerosis. Everything that had ever been for me ceased to be for me; even I ceased to be for me. For twelve years, I searched for a return to life and for a world in which to live it. My wondering and wandering search resulted in me becoming an angry, impoverished, lonely and homeless man who lived in a lean-to on the beach in Hawaii. Then, I found the God of Heaven; and nothing was the same for me, most notably: Me.
