Edited by Charles W. Eliot

Complete 51-volume set, including the Harvard Classics Lectures. Memorial Edition, 1929 printing. Published by P. F. Collier & Son, New York. Uniformly bound in original red fabrikoid (pyroxylin-coated cloth) with gilt titles and Harvard crest to boards and spines.

Note that Volume 38 is missing from the matched set; We have added a volume from 1959 for volume 8 (red bonded leather),

A later and durable issue of Eliot’s renowned “Five-Foot Shelf of Books,” intended as a comprehensive program of self-education across literature, history, philosophy, and science. The Memorial Edition fabrikoid bindings were designed for longevity and retain an attractive, leather-like appearance while offering greater resistance to wear than standard cloth editions.

Condition: Very good. Clean, well-kept set with typical shelf wear. Bindings sound with hinges intact throughout. Gilt titles remain clear and readable. Text blocks are clean and free from foxing or significant discoloration. No bookplates, inscriptions, or markings. A solid and attractive working set with strong shelf presence.
