From a Private Collection • Includes 1862 Civil War Era • 1864 Composition Transition Year
This lot of 7 Indian Head Cents comes directly from my grandfather’s personal coin collection, where the entire group has remained undisturbed for decades. These are not coins that have passed through countless hands at shows and shops—they’ve been carefully preserved together in the same collection.
What you’re getting: 7 Indian Head Cents spanning 1862 to 1905. This lot includes an 1862 Civil War–era cent—a coin that circulated during the bloodiest conflict in American history—and an 1864 transitional-year cent from the period when the Mint switched from copper-nickel to bronze composition. These coins witnessed Reconstruction, the Gilded Age, and the dawn of the 20th century.
The photographs in this listing show the exact coins you will receive. What you see is what you get.
