I brought this in August 2025 on a whim.  Everything was OK, for its age, on this car until January when the Engine Management Light came on and it went into limp mode when I drove over 40mph.  With a Carista odb plugged in I could reset the EML to off and it drive normally again for a bit.  I have included photos of what Carista says it is.

The fault listed is PO410 - Secondary Air Injection System Air - You will need to have some knowledge, or money to pay someone with knowledge on how to fix.  The other 4 faults are PO301, 302, 303 & 304 Cylinder misfire detected.  

I had a message from another ebayer " my slk did this last year , secondary air pump stuck open and making the engine run lean hence misfire on all cylinders , easy fix look on youtube for slk R171 secondary air pump replacement there cheep and easy to fit yourself I did mine in 20 minutes ....."

You will need to add fuel to drive home , i wouldn't trust the fuel gauge saying its a quarter tank.

The front passenger wing has gone cloudy and needs T-cut or a respray to make perfect.  It never bothered me when I drove car, I couldn't see the wing from inside the car.

The brake light in the boot does not work but this does not affect an MOT.  The dash also says there is a "Restaint System Malfunction".     

Do check the MOT history WF07 TOU - there was 1 minor defect and 5 advisories on the last MOT that you need to consider.
