The DS is in great condition.  One of the hinges is broken.  The hinge is not separated from the base, the top is still securely attached, it just won't stay in any position other than fully closed or fully open (see photos).  The top screen is in great shape with barely any noticeable scratches.  The lower screen has the normal scratching on it from use.  I've tried to include pictures showing this.  Otherwise the screens are in great shape.  Bright and I don't notice any dead pixels.  The cover is surprisingly free of any large or deep scratches after the years of use.  To me it looks pretty good.
 
This DS belonged to my son when he was younger:  I don't recall him ever having any trouble with it, I just don't have any remaining DS cartridges to use to confirm.
 
The DS charges fully and powers on.  The buttons all appear to work great.  The sound works.  I went through the setup process without issue, however I don't have a game to use for fully testing gameplay functionality.

The original blue stylus and charger are included.
