Original 1872 Eastern Express Company shipping receipt issued at the Boston office, 51 Devonshire Street. This early express/railroad-era document records the receipt of a sealed package from a customer and its forwarding information. Handwritten entries include date (“Newport March 1872”), sender, package details, and destination (appears to reference Marshall Co., Kansas).

Features ornate printed borders, company terms, and the signature of the Eastern Express agent along bottom. A genuine piece of 19th-century American express, freight, and transportation history.

Good antique condition with expected toning, creases, and light staining consistent with age. All writing remains legible.
