Unnumbered or possibly out of series. 500 copies of the Edition de Luxe were printed, signed by Peary and R.A. Bartlett on the title page. Introduction by Theodore Roosevelt. 

With a large folding colored map & 116 mounted photographic plates. 

Publisher's white cloth with gilt medallion inset to upper cover. This is a cloth bound volume bound by the publisher. Other de Luxe Editions seem to be bound in Vellum with ties to the front boards.

Spine rubbed, some minor soiling to covers, internally clean Introduction by Theodore Roosevelt. With a large folding colored map which has been repaired to the join with the text block & 116 mounted photographic plates.  Collated and complete. 

Approximately 10 ½ inches tall.

Externally

• Spine – fair to good condition – sound, gilt titles and image of Polar Bear, staled and marked.
• Joints – good condition - rubbed and worn.
• Corners – good condition - worn but straight.
• Boards – good condition – some marks and scratches, worn with gilt image of Peary to the front board and a polar bear to the rear.
• Page edges – good condition – top edge gilt, others untrimmed and tanned.
• See above and photos.

Internally

• Hinges – good condition – sound and secure.
• Paste downs – good condition – tanned and foxed.
• End papers – good condition – tanned and foxed.
• Title – good condition – gently tanned and foxed.
• Pages – good condition – some marks and foxing, two tipped in plates with folded corners, map at the rear misfiled and repaired to the join with the text block (at one point completely detached).
• Binding – good condition – very attractive.
