Vintage 1940’s Half Apron 18.5" X 28"
Red and White Pre-Disney Souvenir California Map
Another fantastic estate find! The apron highlights many of the popular tourist destinations of the day, including Mt. Shasta, Yosemite Falls, Death Valley, UC Berkeley, Stanford University, the Rose Bowl, Knott's Berry Farm, Balboa Park, Mount Lassen, the Bakersfield Oil Fields and more. Interestingly, the Oakland Bay Bridge is shown on the apron, but not the Golden Gate Bridge - this may be because the Oakland bridge opened to the public in 1936 while the Golden Gate bridge didn't open to the public until 1937 and hadn't become an icon at the time this apron was made. In any event, it makes a great addition to any cottage core, farmhouse, or tradtional homemaker collection.
The apron is about 18.5" X 28" and each of the apron strings is about 23 inches. Overall this apron is in great condition. There are two small stains which I think can be removed, but that's up to you. Note
