TAKARA TOMY Beyblade X BX-14 Random Booster Vol.1 DranSword 3-80B #3

✓ A Stamina-focused classic from the very first Random Booster — the blade that defined early Beyblade X competitive play

Tournament Champion's Technical Analysis

As a Beyblade veteran, DranSword 3-80B is a fascinating Stamina configuration of one of the most historically significant blades in Beyblade X. While the DranSword blade is classified as Attack Type, pairing it with the 3-80 ratchet and Ball bit completely transforms its behaviour into a centre-hugging Stamina combo. This was one of the first Beyblades available in the Beyblade X system, released in the very first Random Booster in September 2023, and the DranSword blade remained a competitive staple for six months straight — a remarkable run in any meta. The Ball bit's hemispherical contact point keeps this combo planted in the stadium centre, outlasting aggressive opponents who burn energy chasing it.

⚔️ Component Breakdown

Blade — DranSword

A three-sided blade featuring three upward-slanting contact points, with a Gear Chip depicting Seiryū (the Azure Dragon) exhaling fire. DranSword was one of the original four blades released with Beyblade X in 2023 and dominated competitive 3on3 Battle decks from June 2023 through January 2024. The blade does have a known wear issue — the three upper blades gradually become blunt with use, reducing Smash Attack potential over time. Units produced from January 2024 onward feature a reinforced mold weighing over 35 grams with improved durability, though the wear issue on the upper blades persists.

Ratchet — 3-80

The 3-80 ratchet features 3 identical protrusions at an 8.0 millimetre height. This mid-height configuration provides a balanced centre of gravity — not too low to scrape the stadium, not too high to become top-heavy. The three protrusions offer moderate defensive coverage while keeping weight distribution even for stable Stamina performance.

Bit — Ball (B)

Ball is a Stamina Type bit featuring a hemispherical tip that provides a large contact area with the stadium floor. This wide, rounded surface creates excellent Stamina by minimising friction while maintaining stability. The Ball bit naturally gravitates toward the centre of the stadium, making it ideal for outlasting aggressive opponents who expend energy on wide attack patterns.

🎓 Beginner to Champion Path

Week 1-2: Getting Started

Practice launching DranSword 3-80B at moderate power aimed at the stadium centre. The Ball bit works best when it settles into the middle — avoid launching too hard or at steep angles, as this causes the combo to drift wide and waste Stamina. Focus on consistent, controlled launches.

Week 3-4: Building Skills

Experiment with launch angles to find the sweet spot where DranSword settles into the centre fastest. Practice against Attack types to learn how Ball bit absorbs impacts — you'll notice the combo naturally recovers to centre after being hit. Start timing your launches to counter aggressive opponents.

Week 5+: Tournament Ready

In tournament play, DranSword 3-80B excels as a safe pick against unknown opponents. Its Stamina advantage wins most matchups by default. Consider swapping the DranSword blade onto other Stamina setups, or try different bits on the 3-80 ratchet to explore Attack configurations. The DranSword blade's three contact points also make it a viable Attack option on faster bit setups.
