Vintage pair of sterling silver candle inserts / bobeche cups, originally used in Gorham candlesticks.

These are the removable inner cups that sit at the top of a candlestick and support either a taper candle or a small hurricane glass shade. The pierced design allows for airflow and heat dissipation, which helps prevent soot buildup and protects glass shades from cracking.

Each piece is marked “STERLING” on the base. No additional maker’s mark, which is typical for internal components supplied with higher-end candlesticks.

The top part is 1.75 inches wide and lower insert is approximately .75 inches wide measured at diameter.

Good vintage condition with light surface wear consistent with age and use. Some minor polishing marks and typical patina. No major dents or structural damage.
