Signed by David Niven on the title page (without dedication - the ink has gone through slightly to the Copyright page overleaf); Hamish Hamilton 1981 1st UK edition, 382pp., text in acceptable+ condition with browning to pages (+ the odd patch of foxing) and a small mark to the front end paper, browning/rubbing/"dustiness" to the page extremities at the very top - browning/rubbing/staining to those at the side and bottom, spine cocked and boards very slightly warped, very slight bumping and rubbing to the bottom corners and to the top and sides of boards - a bit heavier to the bottom of both boards, to the top of the spine and adjacent corners, noticeably heavier to the base of the spine - which also has a small crease - and to the adjacent corners, elsewhere some bumping and marking to both boards and spine (some damp staining, also, to the rear board though this isn't immediately obvious), the dust jacket has internal staining from the red boards to the bottom of the rear and to the bottom right hand corner/side of the inside of the internal rear blurb, externally the jacket has a very small tear to the rear top right hand corner and a larger one (approx 1cm long) to the front top left hand corner and is creased and marked in places.
