porsche 928 rear hatch receiver cushion 1978-1992
Only 1 cushion stopper, not include the hatch receiver.
This cushion stopper is made not from ordinary rubber, but
from urethane — a material specially chosen for its cushioning properties. It
resists wear from the heavy pressure of hatch closing while being soft enough
to prevent vibration noise during driving.
Without this stopper — or if using a worn or cracked one —
the hatch may not lock properly when closed and can produce an irritating
squeaking noise while driving
If you've ever pulled the hatch release button only to find
the hatch doesn’t open, you’re not alone. This is a typical issue for the
Porsche 928 with a rear hatch release motor.
The solution? Upgrade to our new Urethane Cushion
Buffer — made from high-tension, transparent urethane. This advanced
material is specifically engineered to absorb shocks effectively and maintain
the correct hatch alignment.
Worn or damaged nylon stoppers are a common cause of hatch
misalignment. Over time, they degrade and allow the hatch to sit slightly
raised, preventing it from locking properly. This can also cause annoying
squeaking noises while driving.
Installing the new cushion buffer is a small effort with big
results: a properly closing hatch, reduced noise, and restored functionality.
