The Castle Video 1997 Classic Must Watch Australian Comedy Movie Michael Caton
The Castle is a 1997 Australian comedy film directed by Rob Sitch and written by Sitch, Santo Cilauro, Tom Gleisner, and Jane Kennedy of Working Dog Productions. The film stars Michael Caton, Anne Tenney, Stephen Curry, Anthony Simcoe, Sophie Lee, and Wayne Hope as the Kerrigan family. Set in the outer Melbourne blue-collar suburb of Coolaroo, the Kerrigan home faces a threat when developers attempt to acquire it for expansion of the neighboring airport. Despite the house being built on toxic landfill and adjacent to an airport runway, sweet-natured family patriarch Darryl (played by Michael Caton) believes he lives in the lap of luxury. The film humorously plays on the concept of working-class Australians and their place in modern Australia. It was shot in just 11 days on a budget of approximately A$750,000 and gained widespread acclaim, grossing A$10,326,428 at the Australian box office.
Case, sleeve and cassette all in good to like new condition. Plastic on case may show scuffing, which is to be expected. Photographs are of the actual video you will receive. The condition of recycled VHS is often subjective to individuals and occasionally small marks or issues may be missed. I provide plenty of quality photos because they say a picture paints a thousand words. Please check these photos carefully as they form part of this description and can describe this item far better than any blurb I might write.
