ORIGINAL 1992 CARRIE BALLARD (b 1930) TEXAS LANDSCAPE OIL PASTEL PAINTING

This is a wonderful original.  It is actually one of two original oil pastel paintings I am offering by Contemporary Texas artist Carrie Ballard.  These are some of her earlier works dating to 1992.  For those not familiar with the artist, I have included her biography below.  This is a wonderful large view o what I believe is a Texas landscape.  A walk down a dirt road with a stunning vista off in the background.  It looks like the side of the road is dotted with the signature Texas Bluebonnets as well as some hints of blue scattering within the streets.  Pastel on paper with the image measuring 15 x 25 inches.  Signed and dated in pencil lower left.  Work is in stunning original condition.  Some faint pastel dust within the picture that has gotten on the archival matte but nothing of concern.  Complimentary gold frame is gorgeous and ready to hang.  Frame measures 23 1/2 x 34 inches.  If you collect the artist or these wonderful Texas landscapes, check my store for the other I am offering.  A wonderful pair of works.  FREE SHIPPING ANYWHERE IN THE UNITED STATES.

For those not familiar with the artist his biography from a gallery that specializes in the artist's work reads: "Canvases awash with sunlight are Ballard’s hallmark, whether in landscape or still life. Bold, confident brush strokes characterize Ballard’s contemporary impressionism; minimum expression produces a maximum effect. Texas based, the artist spent 32 years as an art teacher in the Texas public school system. Since retiring, she has traveled extensively in the United States, Europe, Asia, Mexico, and Canada. Incorporating her travelogue into her work, painting has become her major endeavor and passion. Each painting captures the feeling of each location; atmosphere is a tangible element. The work is a reflection of the artist’s outlook on life itself. Carrie Ballard, American artist. Certified teacher, Texas.
