This auction is for an admirably well preserved and completely refurbished Sheaffer Snorkel Sentinel in Black. There are no discernible scratches or other blemishes to the lustrous injection molded plastic (Forticel) of the barrel; and the stainless-steel cap, its gold-filled clip and band are all in excellent condition. The snorkel filling mechanism works perfectly, extending and retracting with little effort, drawing in and expelling ink vigorously. Sac, O-ring, and point seal are all new.
As for the nib itself, it is a very clean, conical Triumph, “F5,” that lays down a smooth, fine line.
Here you have a truly unique writing instrument that would serve distinctively as both a constant companion for journaling and personal letter writing, and as an essential addition to a Snorkel collection lacking a Sentinel in Black as well.
