A finely crafted Japanese cloisonné enamel vase, measuring approximately 10 inches in height (11.5 inches with the wooden stand), produced by the Inaba workshop of Kyoto.

The base bears the characteristic circular “baseball-style” mark associated with the Inaba Company, as documented in standard references on Japanese cloisonné enamel.

The vase features a richly detailed decorative program with alternating panels of phoenix and dragon motifs, set against a deep dark ground enhanced with subtle aventurine

(goldstone) flecking. The shoulder is adorned with intricate floral and geometric borders, while the neck displays fine, tightly controlled scrolling wirework.

Founded in 1887, the Inaba workshop of Kyoto is known for producing high-quality cloisonné across various periods. This example represents later production, dating to the post-1940s era, with consistent craftsmanship, vibrant enamels, and strong visual appeal.

A beautiful and well-balanced piece, offering excellent display presence.
