Here's another Fisher 800-C Tube AM/FM Stereo Receiver acquired from the family of the original owner. Although this one actually powers up, it definitely needs work. This unit belonged to a "tube seller". The 70–75-year-old owner would find, buy, collect all kinds of tube electronics. He would remove the tubes and other small parts and sell them for profit. He had stacks of tube equipment missing their dedicated tubes. I found copied Usenet internet for sale pages, bulletin board sales along with the early days of eBay receipts where he sold tube sets and single tubes. This Fisher receiver is one of the many discarded units. I will be listing more tube equipment missing tubes in the future. As can be seen in the auction photos, the knobs are also missing. I removed the bottom cover and took a few pictures so you can see what you're getting. The dial cord is snapped. As previously stated, tubes are missing. Although this receiver powers up, working condition is suspect. Although the face plate has all lettering and graphics bright and intact there are some marks and scuffs here and there. The dial also looks complete. Chassis shows oxidation, corrosion and tarnish. The AM ferrite antenna is missing from the back. Virtually all vintage electronics can be restored with time and know how. Due to the above stated, this Fisher tube stereo receiver is offered non-working for repair, parts, or restoration and sold as is. Again, I have no idea what's good or bad since no testing has been performed. Please view the 14 auction photos to evaluate this unit since they are the most important part of this description. All items are cleaned and disinfected on the exterior before photos are taken and again before shipment unless stated in my auction. You won't receive any dirty, smelly, smoke-stained items from this seller. We do not open up working units to inspect or to clean.
