Title
3M Vetrap Bandaging Tape: 2 in. x 15 ft. (Gold)
Product Highlights
- SELF-ADHERENT COHESIVE WRAP: 3M Vetrap sticks to itself, not to hair or fur, so no clips, pins, or extra tape are needed to keep the bandage in place.
- CONFORMS TO TRICKY CONTOURS: Elastic fabric flexes around joints, paws, tails, and legs of cats, dogs, horses, and other animals for a snug, stay-put fit.
- EVEN, LASTING COMPRESSION: The cohesive layers bond together to maintain steady pressure over time, ideal for supporting strains, sprains, and wrapping limbs.
- EASY TO USE: Tears cleanly by hand with no scissors required, applies quickly, and removes without sticking to the coat.
- TRUSTED 3M QUALITY: Manufactured in the USA by the brand veterinarians and horse owners have relied on for over 40 years. Latex-based cohesive, lightweight, breathable, and porous fabric.
3M Vetrap Bandaging Tape is a self-adherent cohesive wrap used on cats, dogs, horses, and other animals. The elastic fabric conforms easily around joints, paws, tails, and other hard-to-wrap contours, clinging to itself without sticking to hair or fur. Trusted by animal owners and professionals for more than 40 years.
Vetrap is a versatile wrap that provides support, protection, compression, and bandage securement without the need for clips, pins, or additional tape. The cohesive layers bond together to keep the wrap in place during movement, while the breathable, lightweight fabric stays cool and porous against the coat.
Common Uses: wrapping legs and tails, supporting strains and sprains, immobilizing limbs for splints, securing catheters and gauze, holding hoof packing in place under duct tape, and protecting wounds during recovery.
Features: tears cleanly by hand, latex-free adhesive, maintains even compression, absorbs virtually no moisture, multiple sizes and colors available.
Application Tip: Apply at approximately 50% stretch. Applying too tightly may impair circulation. Finish the wrap with no tension and press firmly to seal.
Contains natural rubber latex. Country of Origin: United States.
Application Instructions
- Clean and dry the area to be bandaged. If covering a wound, place an appropriate primary dressing or gauze pad first.
- Unroll a short length of Vetrap and begin wrapping over the dressing or directly on the limb, starting below the area to be supported.
- Apply the tape at approximately 50% stretch. Pull a section off the roll, let it relax slightly, then wrap. Do not pull the tape tight directly off the roll, as this can impair circulation.
- Overlap each pass by about half the width of the tape, working upward in a spiral pattern.
- Apply the final wrap with no tension and press firmly into place so the cohesive layers seal together.
- Tear the end cleanly by hand. No clips, pins, or extra tape are needed.
- To remove, unwrap the tape or cut carefully with bandage scissors. Vetrap will not tighten or loosen on its own once applied, so the tension set during application is the tension maintained.
Important: Always monitor wrapped limbs for signs of swelling, coldness, or discomfort. If the wrap appears too tight, remove and reapply with less tension.
